Jennifer Cisneros, Senior Director of School Age Programs

Jennifer Cisneros is the Senior Director of School Age Programs for Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove. The organization currently serves 5,000 youth daily at 5 club sites, 49 ASES school sites, 2 High School ASSETS programs, a licensed preschool, Truancy Reduction Center, Juvenile Justice Center, 12 Family Literacy sites and a Family PLUS Center.  These diverse programs are sustained by a staff of more than 450 dedicated and enthusiastic professionals, and serve 5,000 youth each day.

Jennifer earned her Associates Degree in Liberal Studies, with hopes of working in the field of education.  Being exposed to the Boys & Girls Club movement as a volunteer in 1999, Jennifer soon realized her desire to build her career aspirations around youth development.  Her passion for developing the whole child, led her to discover different tools, strategies and techniques used in impacting youth.

In May 2000, Jennifer joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove team, as the Learning Center Coordinator (LCC). By June 2001, she was granted the opportunity to share her expertise with other Learning Center Coordinators, as the Assistant Director of Education.  This position opened the door for Jennifer to develop her leadership skills and launched her management career with Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove.

In 2003, Jennifer was promoted to 21st Century Director, which consisted of overseeing 4 federally funded after school programs in collaboration with Garden Grove Unified School District.  Over the next several years, Jennifer assisted in the expansion of the grant funded programs that flourished from 4 successful after school programs in 2003, to a total of 51 programs in 2007.

In 2007, Jennifer was selected by the Regional Learning Center to create and facilitate staff development trainings. As a trainer for the “You Matter” series, Jennifer has been instrumental in motivating over 250 employees on their role in the after school field.  She also served three years on the planning committee for the nationally recognized BOOST After School Conference. Most recently, Jennifer and her colleagues were chosen by CDE Region 9 to become a Learning Center and offer guidance and training opportunities for after school providers in three counties.

Jennifer lives in Orange, California with her husband, Manuel, and their three children, Dylan, Samuel and Ethan.  She believes that the skill set she has acquired by working for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove has helped her be a better mom.  Jennifer plans to further develop her educational background and will continue to serve as a strong advocate for youth!
