Christina Sepulveda, Vice President of Programs & Services

Christina Sepulveda, M.A., is Vice President of Programs & Services for Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove. The organization currently has 5 club sites, 49 ASES school sites, 4 High School ASSETS programs, a licensed preschool, Truancy Reduction Center, Family and Youth Outreach Program(individual and family counseling) at Garden Grove’s Juvenile Justice Center; parent education including nutrition and healthy living classes; Readiness on the Road (school readiness); Be Great Academy providing free, small group academic tutoring to Garden Grove Unified School District-qualified students; and ARCHES family support services that include:  information & referral services, case management, pediatric vision care, child and family counseling, counseling. These various programs are supported by a staff of more than 500 dedicated and enthusiastic professionals, and serve 6,500 youth each day.

Christina earned her Master of Arts degree in Sociology from California State University Fullerton.  Her studies focused on Social Psychology and Program Planning and Evaluation.  Christina began her career as an Academic Counselor and helped guide students in discovering and obtaining their goals.  She then worked in the Mental Health industry.  Here she gained much knowledge on the counseling profession, healthcare industry and insurance, and the plight of those trying to receive care for their families.  In 2005, Christina joined Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove, and helped create and implement the ARCHES (Access to Resources for Children’s Health Education and Support) program. ARCHES is the Family support office for Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove and has been highlighted as an exemplary program by BGC of America. 
In 2008, Christina became a National Training on Family Support for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.  Christina uses her education and professional background to help other Boys & Girls Clubs in the nation realize programs need to incorporate families in order to maximize their effectiveness.  Christina has spoken at several National Boys & Girls Clubs Conferences and continues to share her experiences with other Boys & Girls Clubs.
In 2010, Christina became part of the Senior Team at BGCGG and is responsible for the recruitment, coordination, and maintenance of community partnerships that foster seamless referrals and coordination of services for families in the community.  She is active in many community organizations, including the Orange County Health Enrollment Task Force, the CalOptima Member Advisory Committee, and the Garden Grove Drug Free Coalition. 
Christina’s goal is to help families become self-sufficient in order to create positive change in the community.  She believes in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove’s talented and passionate staff who, everyday strive to make a positive impact on the lives of the youth and families they serve.  GREAT FUTURES START HERE!
