WHAT:
To help families achieve financial fitness, Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is hosting Money Matters Family Night. This free, interactive event will feature a workshop to teach parents the basics of money management and provide practical information they can use at home. Topics to be discussed include the family budget, savings accounts and helping teens prepare for college. In addition, parents will receive a high-level overview on what their teens are learning at the Club through its Money Matters: Make It Count financial literacy program.

Many of the nation’s teenagers advance into adulthood without learning the necessary skills that lead to financial independence and well-being. This 90-minute workshop is designed to assist parents in understanding how they can better communicate with and prepare their teens for issues related to managing money.

ABOUT MONEY MATTERS:
In 2004, Boys & Girls Clubs of America created a financial literacy program called Money Matters: Make It Count. The program, which is sponsored by Charles Schwab Foundation, provides teens with practical ways to save, spend and invest their money through fun and interactive activities. More than 180,000 teens at approximately 1,500 Boys & Girls Clubs have participated in Money Matters since its inception.
