Impact Report

The Impact Report will provide you with insight on how every donation this past year helped us make a difference in the youth and families in our community.  Not only did donors help reach more children with impactful programs, every dollar invested in our Club generated $16.18 in positive economic impact in California.  Donors also helped us provide more than 735 hours of quality after-school services to each member in our Club and saved our low income families nearly $40 million annually in after school care.

Dear Friends of the Club,

Did you know that every day, 15 million kids nationwide (1 out of 4) leave school with no place to go, putting them at risk of being unsupervised, unguided and unsafe?  Did you know that during the summer, an alarming 43 million (3 out of 4) kids in America lack access to summer learning programs, increasing their risk of learning loss and putting them at a disadvantage before the school year starts?  The way a child spends their time after school and during the summer can significantly impact the path they take. This school year, Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove provided after-school programs to more than 6500 youth and teens everyday, giving them a safe environment, a place to have fun, help with homework, and an opportunity to experience enrichment activities that are not readily available to them in this community.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is committed to ensuring that not only do our community youth have a place to go after school, but also a well-rounded educational summer program that gives them an opportunity to participate in activities and educational experiences that help eliminate learning loss.

Our Summer Program is comprised of 10 weeks of project-based opportunities that engage youth in the process of learning through discovery. Summer Brain Gain encourages creative expression, group work and a final project or production.  The Imagine Science program will involve members in science, technology, engineering and mathematical programs. The Write Brain program will develop story telling, collaboration and writing skills.

“Great Futures Start Here” is more than a slogan to us.  It is our solemn promise that every day, we will do everything we possibly can do to make sure that Club kids will have better lives, now and in the future, by attending our programs. Our “Formula for Impact” includes the 3 elements we believe are important in allowing kids reach their full potential:  academic success, healthy lifestyles and good citizenship.  We take those ingredients and mix them with caring adult role models, a positive and safe environment and top it all off with lots of fun.
